INTERIM INVENTORY & ISSUANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Operated by Ramps · Active from first goods receipt · Fully handed over at Shell S/4HANA go-live
BRIDGING SERVICE — INCLUDED IN PRICE

Shell's S/4HANA ERP programme has not yet gone live. Until it does, there is no live system available to record goods receipts, issue materials to work-orders, or maintain an auditable inventory position. Ramps will operate a structured interim system covering every inventory event from first delivery through to the point Shell's own system is ready to assume control — at which point a clean, timestamped data package will be handed over for mass upload.

📥
Goods Receipt & GRN
Every inbound delivery is logged with part number, PO reference, quantity received, condition, date, and Ramps location code. A GRN document is issued to Shell within 24 hours.
📤
Issuance & Release Control
Material releases are only processed against an authorised Shell requisition or work-order reference. Each issue is timestamped, quantity-confirmed, and signed off — maintaining a live stock balance at all times.
📋
Stock Reporting & Date Integrity
Weekly stock reports shared with Shell showing opening balance, receipts, issues, and closing balance per SKU. All dates — receipt, inspection, issue, return — are preserved to ensure full data integrity for S/4HANA upload.
🔄
S/4HANA Handover Package
At go-live, Ramps delivers a structured data export — all transactions, stock positions, location codes, and document references — formatted for mass upload into Shell's S/4HANA materials management module. Zero data loss. Clean cutover.
Fields Captured Per Transaction
This service is included within the Ramps Price Delivered — no additional charge to Shell for interim system operation, reporting, or S/4HANA handover preparation.

Consolidation Impact — Dynamic Uplift Explained
How shipment volume & consolidation reduces Ramps' logistics uplift per item · Illustrative example based on this order ×1, ×2, ×4
Illustration to show logic. Not fixed values
⚡ Ramps' uplift is NOT a fixed percentage
The logistics cost pool is made up of fixed and semi-fixed charges — documentation, customs brokerage, terminal handling, container hire, trucking and DG handling — that do not scale linearly with cargo volume.

When more cargo is consolidated into one shipment, these fixed costs are spread across a larger base, reducing the per-item and % uplift significantly.
The missing variable from Shell
🗓️ Date Required In-Country (Not Yet Provided)
The required delivery date determines shipment mode (LCL / FCL / Air), consolidation window, and whether Ramps can group this order with others.
Earlier Shell provides this date → greater consolidation opportunity → lower uplift for Shell.
Logistics Cost Pool — Fixed vs Variable by Scenario (Stacked)
Each bar shows how the same fixed cost pool (docs, customs, THC, trucking, DG) is spread across ×1, ×2, ×4 order volumes. The pool grows slightly but far slower than cargo volume — driving uplift % down.
Uplift % by Scenario — Ramps vs Shell
Shows how the % uplift of Ramps Total Value over Shell Total Value reduces as order consolidates. The gap narrows because fixed logistics costs are absorbed across more cargo.
Cost-Per-Kg Efficiency Curve
Logistics cost per kg of actual cargo weight. Drops sharply as volume increases — the clearest illustration of consolidation benefit.
Logistics Cost Pool Breakdown by Scenario
Each cost line shows its cost type, the driver behind it, and how it behaves at ×1 (fragmented LCL), ×2 (partial consolidation), and ×4 (full consolidation / FCL). Fixed costs shrink per shipment as events consolidate; step-fixed costs rise in stages; variable costs scale with volume but benefit from FCL economics.
Cost Component Cost Type Cost Driver ×1 — Fragmented LCL ×2 — Partial Consolidation ×4 — Full Consolidation / FCL Dashboard Message
Cost Nature Definitions
Fixed per shipment One charge per shipment/order, largely unchanged by quantity.
Step-fixed / semi-fixed Rises with volume, but in steps or at a slower-than-linear rate.
Volume-variable Directly scales with freight volume, weight, CBM, or units handled.
🗓️ How "Date Required In-Country" Shifts the Entire Model
💡
What Ramps Needs from Shell to Optimise
1. Date Required In-Country — drives shipment mode and consolidation window  ·  2. Order Frequency / Forecast — allows Ramps to pre-book FCL space  ·  3. Volume Visibility — if Shell plans repeat orders, Ramps can negotiate carrier rates  ·  4. DG Classification Up Front — prevents late surcharges and shipment splits
Earlier Intel = Lower Uplift
